The best way to protect your vehicle's value and ensure that it functions well for many years is to maintain it properly at regular intervals. Our Pinnacle Nissan service team have answers to frequently asked automotive service questions.

How Often Does Nissan Recommend an Oil Change?

The frequency of an oil change really depends on the make and model of vehicle you are driving, the type of oil that you are currently using in your vehicle, how often you drive your vehicle and the type of conditions or terrain you’re driving in. Ideally, we always recommend getting an oil change approximately once every 6 months or every 5,000 to 10,000 miles driven. This could be more frequently or less frequently, depending on your situation. It's important to also read the owner's manual for the specific model of the car to determine the exact recommendations by the manufacturer.

What Services Does Your Maintenance Department Cover?

Our service department covers many different routines, preventive and repair services. It’s important that you have routine work done to your vehicle. This will protect its integrity and keep it running reliably. We complete oil changes, tire rotations, alignments, brake service, and recall work, among many other jobs. If you need routine maintenance completed on your vehicle or suspect that there is a problem with your vehicle, stop down to Pinnacle Nissan to schedule an appointment.

Will My Warranty Cover My Repairs?

Depends on your warranty type. Eg, warranty for a brand-new car vs certified-preowned may vary. A warranty is designed to cover the majority of your repairs and service, but there will be work that isn’t covered. Generally, this includes normal wear and tear. Check with our service department to find out if your needed repair is going to cost you anything.

Do I Have to Pay For a Recall?

If Nissan issues a recall, you are not liable to pay for anything relating to the service appointment. Any parts that are needed for the recall will be provided by the manufacturer of your vehicle. The labor at our service department is also taken care of by Nissan.

When Should I Replace My Tires?

Tires should be replaced on your vehicle when you notice that your current set is starting to wear down. You can use the penny tread test to determine if your tread is getting too low. First, place a penny upside-down inside the tread, and if you can see any of Lincoln’s head, then it’s getting close to needing new tires. Also, look out for cracks in the rubber or uneven tread wear.

Do I Need an Appointment, or Can I Just Show Up?

It’s a good idea to contact our service center to schedule routine maintenance or a repair job. We are open from 7 AM to 7 PM on most days. You can show up between those times to get check what type of maintenance your vehicle needs.
