What's New For the 2020 Nissan LEAF?
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Nissan Leaf comes with all kinds of new upgrades and features that make the newer model an excellent choice. ProPilot has received some outstanding improvements, and you have a park system and speed control that only serve to make this vehicle even better. For the first time, the Nissan LEAF brings a new system known as Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention.
Meanwhile, you have an electric hatchback that you can equip with Canto. In Spanish, Canto means, "I sing." They built this system to give pedestrians an alert that the car will be coming. That's because it runs so quietly that you might not hear it otherwise. This assists with the awareness that pedestrians have, but it also helps other cars to know that it is coming as well.
Another one of the novelties that you will get with the 2020 LEAF is known as door-to-door navigation. Nissan also introduced Google search tools in this vehicle. For the first time, you can access an app, which will tell you if you have locked your doors or not. In the new 2020 model, you will get a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen as the standard for this vehicle.
Which Features Are Available for 2020?
When it comes to the
trims of this vehicle, you will get a few different options: the S, SV, SL and the LEAF Plus variants.
The S trim is the standard package to get you through the day, while the Plus trim gives you everything that you could want with a more robust powertrain. In general, the level of comfort will go up the higher the package that you have chosen, and you will get more amenities and features.

Great Power and Fuel Economy
With the 2020 Nissan LEAF, you get a mileage range of around 226 miles, and you get faster charging and acceleration than in last year's model. Pop the hood and look at the engine of this puppy, you will see a lithium-ion battery of 62 kWh. That's what helps you go another 76 miles up to 226 miles in driving range.
2020 Nissan LEAF Safety Features
What does safety look like with this vehicle? As we stated earlier, you get the Canto feature to warn pedestrians and other cars that you're nearby. With the newest model, you get a Shield 360 system coming as the standard with this vehicle. This includes many of the great safety features like:
- Rear automatic braking
- Automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection
- Rear cross-traffic alert
- Lane departure warning
- High beam assist
The Shield 360 system comes as the standard safety feature on the 2020 Nissan LEAF. Their approach to safety, however, goes even beyond this with the Nissan Intelligent Mobility package, which adds more safety and control when driving. You will get intelligent lane intervention, intelligent forward collision warning, intelligent blind-spot intervention, and intelligent backup intervention.
