The Nissan Frontier is powered by one of two engines. The base engine is a 2.5L engine with a four-cylinder configuration. This engine can put out a maximum of 152 HP and up to 171 LB-FT of torque. Although it only operates with four cylinders, this engine has the smoothness of a six-cylinder. With that said, you can also get a six-cylinder engine to power your Frontier. The six-cylinder engine can tow up to 6,720 LBS. It produces over 260 HP and more than 280 LB-FT of torque. In addition to getting more power, you can save fuel when needed with the flexible fuel option. The engines are paired with either a five-speed or six-speed manual transmission or a five-speed automatic transmission.
