What's New for the 2018 Nissan Sentra?

The new 2018 Nissan Sentra brings more value this year by adding more standard features across the different trims. Automatic emergency braking is a sought-after safety feature that now comes standard across nearly all trims, including the base S trim. Other new updates include adding a moonroof and premium audio as standard features to the top-of-the-line SL trim.

Trim Differences

There are six trim options on the new Nissan Sentra: the base S model, SV, SR, SR Turbo, Nismo, and SL. All trims feature room for five, and a spacious trunk with over 15 cubic feet of space. A 60/40 split fold rear seat allows drivers to expand cargo space even more. Even tall drivers will enjoy driving the Nissan Sentra because it provides over 39 inches of head space and over 42 inches of leg space in the front seat.

  • The S offers plenty of value for a base trim. The exterior has automatic headlights, power mirrors, and 16-inch steel wheels. Inside, the Sentra comes equipped with air conditioning, power locks and windows, keyless entry, and cruise control.
  •
  • Drivers will enjoy the 6-way manual adjustable seat, and the convenience of Bluetooth technology, hands-free text assist, and a 5.0-inch display connected to a four-speaker sound system.
  •
  • The SV builds on the base trim by adding 16-inch alloy wheels, an Advanced Drive-Assist infotainment system with a five-inch color screen, and push-button ignition. Premium cloth upholstery and dual-zone climate control give the Sentra higher-quality feel.
  •
  • The SR gives drivers all the features of the SV and adds 17-inch alloy wheels, heated seats with Premium Sports seat trim, LED low-beam headlights, and Intelligent cruise control.
  •
  • The SR turbo is similar to the SR trim but provides a whole different performance with a turbo engine, sports suspension, and ventilated disc brakes. A power moonroof lets drivers feel the wind in their hair as they push the turbo engine to its limits.
  •
  • Drivers seeking more sports capability will enjoy the Nismo trim. It provides a turbo engine, 18-inch alloy wheels, and Michelin Pilot Sports tires. An aerodynamic exterior provides speed and efficiency, and a sports interior with red trim looks as sharp on the interior as does on the exterior.
  •
  • For luxury in a compact space, the SL trim will meet expectations. Leather seats, six-way power-adjustable driver's seat, and a power moonroof provide a comfortable ride, while an upgraded infotainment system featuring a 5.8-inch touchscreen, navigation, and a Bose sound system makes the ride enjoyable. The exterior gets a boost with fog lamps and heated exterior mirrors with built-in turn signals.

Under the Hood

2018 Nissan Sentra ExteriorThe standard engine for the 2018 Nissan Sentra is a 1.8-liter, inline four-cylinder. It provides a solid 124 horsepower and is matched to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) on all but the base S trim, which comes with a six-speed manual transmission. The 1.8-liter engine handles smoothly and shifts seamlessly, even at high speeds, and drivers will love the fuel efficiency. Drivers seeking more power under the hood can choose the SR Turbo or Nismo trims for a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine that provides a more-than-respectable 188 horsepower.

Safety Equipment

2018 Nissan Sentra RearThe 2018 Nissan Sentra is a great option when safety is a priority. All Sentras come equipped with a suite of airbags, traction control, automatic emergency braking (with the exception of the manual transmission base trim and Nismo), and rear-view cameras. Drivers looking for additional safety features will enjoy the SL trim that includes blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alerting.

Drivers seeking a subcompact vehicle that provides a great blend of performance, amenities, and efficiency will love the 2018 Nissan Sentra. Stop by and take it for a test drive today!
