After all these years, the Nissan Maxima will be discontinued next year. The sedan has been a staple of the automaker's lineup. Still, it has fallen out of favor in recent years as buyers have shifted towards crossovers and SUVs.

The Nissan Maxima has ended after 42 years on the market. The car was first introduced in 1978. Changing technology and a shifting automotive market caused Nissan to retire the Maxima.

The Maxima was known for its roomy interior, comfortable ride, and fuel efficiency. It was also popular for drivers who wanted a sporty car that could still handle everyday tasks.

 

Nissan is well known for its lineup of economy and mid-range vehicles. Still, many buyers don't realize the manufacturer's top-of-the-line vehicles are also luxurious, allowing drivers to own a luxury car without moving up to a luxury brand with a higher price tag. Those two vehicles are the Nissan Murano and the Nissan Maxima.
