The 2015 Murano not only shows off an all-new look based on the Resonance Concept, but also purposeful technology that journalists have taken notice of. We're pleased to announce that the SUV has won a "Best of What's New" award from Popular Science magazine, and when listing the reasons why Murano was selected as a winner in the automotive category, the publication pointed out its innovative Predictive Forward Collision Warning system.
Earlier this year, Popular Science actually wrote an article about Murano called "A Car that Predicts Danger," in which they placed a spotlight on its PFCW technology. The article declares that "[c]ollision-avoidance systems have an Achilles' heel: In heavy traffic, they are just as blind to risks down the road as drivers are." However, the 2015 Murano's Predictive Forward Collision Warning feature has a trick up its sleeve. Unlike other systems, which can only scan one car ahead, PFCW's radar actually scans up to 492 feet away by shooting out beams from underneath the SUV. This gives it the ability to spot stopped cars or slow-moving vehicles and warn you to apply the brakes before the driver ahead of you even knows what's going on.
PFCW is just one new technology that sets the all-new 2015 Nissan Murano apart from its competitors. In addition, it offers technologies like NissanConnect with Navigation and Mobile Apps, Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, among other noteworthy features.
The next-generation 2015 Murano is due to arrive soon at Pinnacle Nissan and we can't wait!
"For 27 years, Popular Science has honored the innovations that surprise and amaze us - those that make a positive impact on our world today and challenge our view of what's possible in the future. The 'Best of What's New' award is the magazine's top honor ... each [winner represents] a revolution in its field."
