At the SV trim level, the Maxima is enhanced with leather seat trim, steering-wheel and front-seat heating, driver-seat power lumbar, two additional USB ports, HD Radio, three-month trial subscriptions to the SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link, and 8-inch touchscreen navigation. In addition to being the only Maxima trim with aluminum foot pedals and a driver-side memory system, the SL is enhanced with front-seat cooling, a garage-door opener, and an 11-speaker Bose premium stereo system. Only the Platinum and Platinum Reserve trims have three-year Select and six-month Premium Plus NissanConnect Service subscriptions for functions and services such as roadside assistance, automatic collision notification, remote door lock/unlock, vehicle health reporting, and a stolen car locator.
The 2020 Nissan Maxima has a 3.5-liter V6 engine, which generates 300 horsepower and 261 lb-ft of torque and comes with a continuously variable transmission. The engine is placed in the front, with power sent to just the front wheels.
Among the 2020 Nissan Maxima's standard safety features, in addition to the previously mentioned Safety Shield 360 suite, are an eight-airbag system, a rearview camera with rear parking sensors, electronic vehicle stability control, traction control, a back door alert, active ride control, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, brake assist, electronic brake-force distribution, driver-assist display, intelligent trace control, and a theft-deterrent system.
Safety Shield 360 combines blind-spot warning, high beam assist, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic rear braking, and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection. Upper-level trims are more likely to have additions or enhancements such as front parking sensors, traffic sign recognition, intelligent cruise control and lane intervention, driver attention alert, and a 360-degree camera.
