Nissan's legendary Z sports car turns 50 in 2020. There have been many changes from the first 240Z to the current 370Z, but Nissan's ability to put high performance in a small package has remained a constant through the last half century.
To honor the five decades sports car performance, Nissan has created a new 50th Anniversary Edition trim package. The trim includes two toned paint to memorialize the 240Z. Also included is a special tachometer, leather seats with suede inserts, special anniversary badges, and retro graphics. Browse new 370Z models after reading the remainder of the review below.
The 2020 370z comes in four trim packages: Base, Sport, Nismo and the 50th Anniversary Edition. Each package has the high output 3.7L engine available. The Sport model provides 19 inch alloy wheels, a high performance braking system with four piston disc brakes on the front and two piston brakes on the rear. It also includes a front air deflector, rear spoiler and a limited slip differential.
The top of the line Nismo package includes a higher output engine and seven speed manual transmission. A highly tuned, special dual exhaust system is included. It also provides a specially configured suspension to handle the extra power.
The Nissan Z line of sports cars has always produced enough power to compete on a racetrack as well as a city street, and the 2020 370Z continues this tradition. The 3.7L engine produces an excellent ratio of size to power by providing 332 hp and nearly 270 ft. lbs. of torque. Nissan creates such an output in a number of ways. For example, Nissan engineered a continuously variable valve timing control system. Intake and exhaust valves are computer monitored and adjust timing based on a number of factors. This results in more efficient combustion and ultimately, more power.
To ensure the power transfers to performance, Nissan provides a six speed manual transmission or seven speed manual on the Nismo version. A special downshifting feature is included on manual transmissions. The vehicle continuously monitors the vehicle speed with engine RPMs and alerts the driver for the optimal downshifting time.

To prevent a collision, the 370Z comes with a rear viewing monitor. Antilock braking is standard on all trim packages. Nissan's unique stability control continuously monitors power output and traction. When the vehicle senses that stability limits have been reached, it automatically reduces engine power and can automatically apply the brakes to regain vehicle control.
