Nissan Altima Overview

The 2017 Nissan Altima carries over with no major changes for the new model year. Like the 2016 edition, it offers a compelling mix of power and efficiency, with 270 horses from its optional V6 or up to 39 mpg highway with a properly equipped 2.5 model. Class-exclusive technologies like Predictive Forward Collision Warning also set Altima apart from its competitors, as does its new sportier look, which was just updated last year during a design refresh. Available Trims & Top Features

If you buy or lease a 2017 Nissan Altima in the Phoenix area, you'll have a choice between several trim levels. Primary models include the Altima, Altima S, Altima SR, Altima SV and Altima SL. All can be had in 2.5 configurations, which means they get a 2.5-liter engine, while the SR and SL can also be had in 3.5 versions with a larger powerplant.

The Altima boasts many notable features, including Bluetooth phone/audio and remote/keyless entry on the base trim, as well as a rearview camera, Siri Eyes Free and NissanConnect on the S trim.

Altima Horsepower, Torque & Fuel Economy

Altima's base engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that's good for 182 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. Also available is a 3.5-liter V6 that accelerates performance with 270 hp and 251 lb-ft of torque.

EPA fuel economy estimates with the four-cylinder come in at 27 city and 39 highway mpg, except on the sports-oriented SR which gets 26/37. The six-cylinder engine rates in at 22 city and 32 highway mpg. In Edmunds.com's 2017 Nissan Altima review, editors call the lineup's fuel efficiency "very good" for the midsize sedan class.

Safety Features That See Ahead

When you purchase a 2017 Nissan Altima in Scottsdale, you can choose from many innovative safety features. Along with class-exclusive, radar-based Predictive Forward Collision Warning, Altima offers technologies like rear cross-traffic alert and blind spot monitoring, as well as NissanConnect services such as emergency calling and automatic collision notification.

In addition, the 2016 Nissan Altima earned a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS and the 2017 model is expected to earn the same title.
