An award-winning midsize truck, the Nissan Frontier offers several fantastic choices for drivers who need everything from a powerful work truck to a more comfort-oriented luxury model. Drivers will find the 2016 Frontier comes in two body styles: crew cab and extended, as well as five trim levels: S, SV, Desert Runner, Pro-4X and SL.
The base S trim starts things off with standard features, such as 15-inch steel wheels, cruise control, steering wheel audio controls, Bluetooth connectivity, a four-speaker sound system and front bucket seats. If you choose a V6 powertrain on the Frontier S, you'll get a slight upgrade in features, including a six-speaker sound system, a sliding rear window and 16-inch wheels.
The Frontier SV adds keyless entry, 16-inch alloy wheels and satellite radio to the pickup, as well as a 5-inch touchscreen, upgraded cloth upholstery, Bluetooth connectivity and a 12-volt power outlet. Once again, those who choose the V6 engine on the truck will get more options, including a Value Truck package that comes with foglights, heated front seats, a rearview camera and rear parking sensors.
The next-level Desert Runner gets a few more off-roading features, such as off-road tires, unique exterior and interior styling, high-performance shock absorbers and foglamps. The Pro-4X trim is highly recommended by several 2016 Nissan Frontier reviews for its excellent all-terrain features, including specially tuned shocks, a locking rear differential, a navigation system and skid plates. There is also an available Luxury package that adds a bit more premium features to the truck. Finally, the range-topping Frontier SL gets the full Luxury package, while losing the off-roading equipment found on the Pro-4X trim. It also gets side steps, a sunroof and 18-inch alloy wheels.
