
Nielsen has just presented Nissan with a big honor: Spanish TV Advertiser of the Year. This award is in acknowledgement of the automaker’s continued efforts to connect with its Hispanic and Latino audiences here in the U.S. with heartwarming and funny commercials.
"We realize the growth opportunity presented by the changing cultural demographics in the U.S. that is led by Hispanic consumers. Our intent is to create ads that deeply engage our Hispanic fans, including Spanish-language audiences, in a culturally relevant and authentic way," said Jeremy Tucker, vice president, Nissan Marketing Communications & Media. "This comes through original, ground-up creative in our ads, and through participation in passion points, such as Nissan's sponsorship of the Mexican National Team.'"
This year’s award winner was chosen by TV audiences who were surveyed by Nielsen. They judged various automotive ads based on brand recall, overall recall and likability. Participants answered surveys about what they are watching in their homes, deciding ultimately on Nissan’s ads as the best Spanish-language offerings.
Nissan has been a finalist for this award over the past seven years, with this year being the first time they‘ve taken home the award, showing that hard work and commitment to customers really pays off.
