Every year, the Fountain Hills Chamber of Commerce organizes a fun-for-all-ages Thanksgiving Day Parade, also known as Parade of the Hills or Parada de Los Cerros. On Thursday, Nov. 27, 2014, the tradition continues! And as always, the annual Fountain Hills Turkey Trot 5K & Fitness Walk will precede the event, giving folks an opportunity to work off their holiday meals before enjoying the parade cavalcade.
The two-hour procession will include numerous marching bands, colorful floats, dance routines, horses, motorcycle shows and even a special guest appearance from Santa! One of the Valley's most cherished holiday celebrations, and the only Thanksgiving Day Parade in the Phoenix area, the event draws in hundreds of locals who gather to watch and cheer on parade participants. Contributors include local businesses and organizations like the nonprofit Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), classic car clubs and Girl Scout troops.

As usual, the event will run from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. near beautiful Fountain Park. For more details, please call (480) 837 - 1554.
Also, if you would like to take part in the Turkey Trot, there's still time to register! Every year, nearly 1,700 locals join in the fitness fun before heading to the parade, so find your favorite turkey hat and walk or run with your friends and family. Registration for the 5K opens at 5:45 a.m. and the race begins at 7:30 a.m. in the Library/Museum parking lot on Avenue of the Fountains.
