It's only been a mere four months since the Nissan IDx Nismo Concept made its big debut at the Tokyo Motor Show, but that hasn't stopped former late-night talk show host Jay Leno from getting his hands on the car and featuring it in an all-new video for his automotive series, "Jay Leno's Garage." A fan of classic cars, when Leno got wind that the Nissan IDx Nismo could be considered a "spiritual successor" to the Datsun 510, he had to test it out. Its value, lightweight frame and fun demeanor put it right in line next to the timeless sedan and Leno was more than happy to get an up-close look at its beautiful craftsmanship.
In the video, Leno sets the Nissan IDx Nismo right beside the Datsun 510 to showcase their similarities and has Nissan Creative Design Manager Giovanni Arroba come in and give him a rundown on the IDx. Unlike many of the cars that Leno showcases in his video series, the IDx Nismo is only a model car, so it was not outfitted with its proper engine. However, that didn't deter Leno from taking it for a spin, which you can watch in the full 12-miunte video below!
